Welcome to My Blog!

First, a bit about me. I’m Tom, and I’m currently studying the Arabic language in Amman, Jordan, whilst also interning at the national newspaper The Jordan Times. I hail from the rather northern English city of Sunderland, something that is culturally, and literally, miles away from where I am now.

My blog is going to primarily focus on my journeys across the great and wondrous Hashemite Kingdom I now find myself in, and have been since August 2021.

Over these past few months, I have visited many of the amazing places Jordan has to offer, from the Red Sea in Aqaba to the movie studio world of Wadi Rum, the mosaics and churches of Madaba and the salty sting of the Dead Sea. These will most likely be covered in my upcoming blog posts, as these places need to be visited more than once – and that is my plan.

So, thank you for joining me on my journey of this part of the Arab world, as I come to grasps with the language, the food, the weather and every little thing in between, I’m sure it’s going to be a blast.
