About Me
I currently work as a News Video Production Trainee at The Times and The Sunday Times. In my role I edit news video from a variety of newswires for the digital version of The Times and produce short-form news explainers with Times journalists for YouTube. Occasionally, I work as an assistant producer for The Times documentary strand, Times Originals.
Alongside my work at The Times, I am also studying for an NCTJ at PA Media Academy. I am expected to finish the course in July 2026, and have so far achieved a Gold Standard in all of my exams and coursework.
Prior to this, I worked as a Video Assistant Producer at the independent production company Audio Always in MediaCityUK, Salford. I shot and edited video for various social media platforms for a myriad of podcasts and radio shows, managing the output content for at least six podcasts simultaneously.
I worked on several BBC radio shows that were produced by Audio Always, most notably Elis James & John Robins for BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds, with many of the videos I produced being posted by the BBC masterbrand on TikTok and receiving more than 1M views. I also regularly worked on Craig Charles on BBC Radio 6 Music, being in the studio for the moment Craig played the last ever Beatles song live on air.
Throughout university I engaged in student media, whether that be roles in the television, radio or newspaper outlets. As a Senior Producer across the whole of the Manchester Media Group, I ensured that all three divisions worked together, an idea that won awards at the Student Publication Association Awards 2023.
My roles in student media varied from Head of News at the television station Fuse TV, which saw me produce weekly news bulletins and special reports on student matters; Station Manager at Fuse TV, overlooking the management of the whole network; Senior Producer across The Mancunion, Fuse TV and Fuse FM, which ensured collaborative work in all fields. I regularly produced my own news videos, presented radio shows and wrote for the student newspaper.
Whilst in Manchester, I also worked at the University of Manchester Students' Union as a Videographer. I created a range of videos for social media and YouTube, as well as becoming skilled in the use of social media scheduling platforms, and making audience-appropriate content for different social media sites.
I studied German and Arabic at the University of Manchester, graduating with a 2:1 Honours in June 2023. During my studies, I completed a year abroad in Amman, Jordan, and Berlin, Germany. I strengthened my journalistic skills whilst interning at the national English-speaking newspaper The Jordan Times, where on a day-to-day basis I edited articles and created news stories from media release briefs, and also reported on my own stories in the fields of charities, film and culture. In Berlin, I wrote an article about my experiences during Germany's €9 summer of travel for a local English-speaking website.
